The trip home from Harwood has traditionally been a long one for the Falcons. That's one tradition they were glad to break... a no win streak at Southern was stopped short by capitalizing on some Bulldog mistakes in the fourth quarter. The game started off looking like the battle of the offenses. Severna Park opened with a big drive that was capped with a 17 yd Bateman FG. Senior Eric Foote lead the Bulldog offense rushing for 2 first half TD's for 53 and 26 yards each. Chris Hunt scored one for the team with a 37 yd pass from Pat Morrison to open the second quarter and keep Park in the game. The score was 14-10 at the half and Southern gained an 11 point lead early in the third with another TD. The Falcons were down but not out- they answered back by tipping a punt down, setting the stage for a 49 yard TD run by Kavonta Harried. Southern's next drive came to a halt when Jamie Sisk recovered a Bulldog fumble and set up a Porter Johnson 1 yard TD scamper, topped off for good measure with a 2 point conversion pass to Hunt from Morrison. The next Southern kickoff was bobbled again and Joey Anderson recovered the ball setting up a 1 yard keeper by Morrison. Offensive line and a well executed special teams helped pull this win out from behind. Severna Park returns to their home field next week to take on Northeast and face another county rival on their way playoffs. Come out and cheer them on- WE BELIEVE.
