Revenge is sweet and Severna Park certainly liked the taste of it as they put up 25 points and a win after 2 previous scoreless years against the Bulldogs. It was the coaching staff's first victory ever against Southern and it gave Park a chance to finally even the score on their home turf. The Falcons came out strong and never wavered as they racked up 285 total yards, with Defense holding the Dawgs to only 58 yards and one first down for the game. Tom Massie was a force to be reckoned with and came out strong, opening with a scoring run to the end zone which set the tone for the game which he followed up later with another TD run to finish Southern off. Greg Zingler also hit the ground running and with an impressive 47 yard TD, followed by another 2 yard scamper. In the Oh-So-Close but yet so far away category, came Tom Babington and Pat Morrison. Babington had several impressive almost-touchdown-runs putting the Falcons within striking distance, and Morrison had an impressive scoring run on punt return which was called back after signaling a fair catch. Marques Johnson also added to the mix with some impressive runs and more Falcon yards. The offensive line made all this excitement possible, led by senior captain Ethan Vidal and also with the return of Chase Kettler. Defense gave very little and had some hard hitting action from Lewis Spadaro, Mark Otto, Tyler Handley, and Joey Greco. Also running effective interference for the Falcons were DB's Tom Bryant, Brent Sanders, Chris Hunt and Pat Morrison. Special Teams performance rounded out the complete package and earned the Falcons a much deserved win. They'll be on the road again next week to keep the fires burning against the Northeast Eagles. Wish them Luck!
